The building project we worked on this year was our property in Nepal.  We have completed the fill work, which was extensive, and we built a wall around the entire property.  I have decided to postpone the construction of the large building on that property until the economic conditions are more favorable.  We did go ahead and expand our present structure to allow us a little more room for growth.

When the Maoists won the general elections last year in Nepal, India cancelled all of their cross-border trading agreements.  Since all of Nepal’s building materials are imported from India, building materials skyrocketed.  The construction price of our building then tripled, making it imprudent for us to build at this time.  I had $50,000 set aside toward our Nepal building and I decided in December to use that money to purchase two properties in Nepal.  We also spent $7,000 to expand our school building.  I will give the details on my plans for these properties next month.  They are both strategically situated and will become model churches and regional centers in the years ahead.  We already have significant congregations in these two cities.

I plan to continue emphasizing our work in Nepal for another year.  We should be able to add 50 more churches there this year and I want to develop the two places where we have purchased property.  I will also be looking at purchasing property for our children’s home and begin expanding that work.  I desperately need administrative help and I hope to bring my son Shane in this year to work with us in that area.  He is already working with us part time and has been a tremendous blessing.
