Summer TravelBev and I are wrapping up a summer of itineration here in the States, and it has been a very fruitful time. I’m grateful to the Lord for the opportunities He gave us to minister to congregations that are partnering together with us in our work. Many thanks to Pastor Larry Stockstill, Baton Rouge, LA; Pastor David Pursifull, Huntsville, AL; Pastor Scott Hornsby, Zachary, LA; Pastor Mike Ware, Denver, CO; Pastor John Ettore, San Diego, CA; Pastor Dale Brooks, Stillwater, OK; Pastor Terry Harris, Chattanooga, TN; Pastor Mark Harrell, Somerset, KY; Pastor Scott Bledsoe, Gonzales, LA; Pastor Van Ducote, Gulfport, MS; and Pastor Jeff McKneely, Amite, LA. From sacrificial offerings given by these churches we received $63,000 which has allowed us to do some serious “catching up.” Video MessageThe Lord gave me an idea of communicating our work through a video message, and it has surprised me in the way it has touched people’s hearts. To be honest, it touches me too! If you have not seen it yet you can view it on our website: www.rickzachary.com/newsletters.php. I have produced a DVD from the presentation we did at Bethany World Prayer Center, South Campus. If you would be interested in showing this DVD to a small group as a way of helping us to present our work, please contact my son Shane: mobile 225.921.1932 or shane.zachary@gmail.com. Shane will send you a packet containing the DVD, a full color book that chronicles the past ten years of our work, brochures on the Children’s Home, the Blind Hostel, and our Compassion work, and instructions on how to present this video to a missions minded small group. Ministry ToolFour years ago Pastor Bob Rodgers in Louisville, KY donated an RV to us. That vehicle has been a blessing, and it helped us understand the usefulness of such a tool. It is now 14 years old and was beginning to have maintenance issues. We traded it last month for a 2005 C-class motor home that is built on a Freightliner diesel truck chassis. It is an extremely reliable machine and something that should serve us for many years to come. It’s really more of a commercial vehicle than it is a recreational vehicle. With the trade-in I was able to finance the balance, and the note I pay is very reasonable – actually about the same as maintaining an aging RV. Bev and I put some significant, trouble-free miles on it this summer. Home FrontWhen we sold our home in Baton Rouge seven years ago and moved in with Beverly’s mom in Hattiesburg, MS, I thought we were making that move to help her. Bev is her only living child and her husband passed away eight years ago. But there have been mutual benefits. Bev’s mom is truly a jewel. She’s 80 years old and in excellent health. She serves us tirelessly which has freed Bev and I both to focus on the work. I’m grateful to the Lord for the role she is playing in helping us fulfill our purpose in reaching the lost. And I’m grateful for you. Many thanks for partnering with us for the sake of the unreached people of South Asia.
