Bev's Group of Leaders

Dishan and Stephanie DeSilva

Colombo Congregation

I just returned from Colombo, Sri Lanka, where I took seven Pastors’ wives from the U. S. to minister in our first model-church plant.  This is the second trip I’ve made with a group of ladies, and it far exceeded my expectations!  These are mighty women of God  who gave of their time, effort and resources to further the work in South Asia.  (Even though one of them screamed and another jumped up in a chair when one of God’s eight legged creatures scampered across the floor!)  The ministry was tremendous and timely.

We worked with Pastor Dishan DeSilva and his wife Stephanie, to host a conference for 125 pastors’ wives and key leaders who Dishan is overseeing and mentoring.  It was the first such conference for women only.  We had two days of teaching and ministry to these precious ladies.  They were so touched and said they never thought they would have the opportunity to stay in a hotel and have so many people serve them.  It was an honor to do so.

We also ministered in Pastor Dishan’s church services as well as home groups and healing services.  He now has 15 services going on all over the city on Sundays.  Three take place in the main building.

We visited two of the newest church plants in outlying towns about an hour-and-a-half from Colombo.  We were able to minister to about 30 women leaders in each place.  I was especially touched when one lady asked a question concerning her husband, who wasn’t a believer and didn’t support her in her walk with the Lord.  The pastor’s wife who was sharing that day told her to look to her left and then look to her right and know that she always has a support family in the church.

This was another life-changing experience for all the ladies involved.  It could not have happened without your prayers and support.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Happy Thanksgiving and remember to Dream His Dreams.

……thank you again for allowing me the opportunity to join you and the other ladies on the trip to Sri Lanka.  This experience has been life changing for me.  As a pastor’s wife, I feel like the Lord has placed a calling on me to minister, especially to the people of God.  I never thought that this calling to minister and encourage other Christians would ever leave the four walls of my church, much less my country!!!  I am so touched by the love of my Savior for me, that He would see me worthy of such an amazing opportunity. - Tonya Menard, Family Life Christian Fellowship, Lafayette, LA

The opportunity we had to walk thru the halls of parliament and pray and claim that territory for Him, the spiritual warfare that took place, how awesome to be apart of that! - Tammy McKneely, House on the Rock, Amite, LA

There is a big request to please do another one next year only for them, as it was a blessing!  Pastor Dishan DeSilva, Bethany Christian Life Centre, Colombo, Sri Lanka
