Bev and I are in Bombay, India, looking into the possibilities of doing a church plant sometime in the next two years in India. For the past four years we have focused most of our growth effort in Nepal. The work there has grown to a point where I do not feel as needed as before. We will still be very involved, of course, but I want to shift the growing edge of our focus toward India. To be honest, I’m a little overwhelmed. India is second only to China in population and the cultural barriers to the Gospel are strongly entrenched.
My work in India over the years has been focused through New Life Church in Bombay. These brothers are doing an amazing job and really, there is little I can add to their leadership skills. They are educated, anointed, passionate and full of vision. Pastor S. Joseph and his leaders are doing an admirable work here. I am searching for a place in India where we will be more needed. I could just about close my eyes and pick a spot but, of course, I want to be led of the Lord.
We will be traveling to three cities over the next two weeks before going to Sri Lanka for a leaders' conference. I am hoping that by the end of this journey we will have some clarity on what the Lord has for us in the massive and rapidly developing nation of India.
Many Thanks for standing with us in faith and in prayer.
