children’s village - july 2011

This past month has been very fulfilling for me.  I flew to Nepalgunj, Nepal, to meet with an international group of engineers and architects to plan the children's village!  Six young men spent several grueling days out in the hottest sun I've ever experienced.  They surveyed, explored, and did all kinds of testing on that precious eight acres of land to help us to find the best possible places for wells, buildings, and roads.  They spent many hours around the table with Shane and me putting the vision on paper.

And yes, the best part was that I was able to take our oldest son, Shane, with me!  What a privilege and honor it was for me to be able share that time with him.

Many thanks to the eMi2 team for helping us to “write the vision and make it plain on tablets”: Huberth Marak, India; Matt Schneider, USA; Bijay Gurung, Nepal; Matt Garver, USA; Austin Walters, USA; and Paul Johnston, Scotland.  In the next few months, I hope to give you a full report on the final plans.  What once was a dream is becoming a reality.

As I walked on that empty field and saw these men hard at work, I knew that this project was well underway and that many children will be cared for and loved.  Thanks for standing with us as we live this dream!

Live His Dreams
