Pakistan has been marked in so many negative ways in the last few years: instability in the government, strained relations with the U.S. and neighboring India, floods, earthquakes, and human rights. In the midst of all that, there is good news. God has not left Pakistan. He cares for their people, and we see the evidence of this in the blessing He has placed on our Islamabad church.
Earlier this month, I received a very encouraging report from Pastor Safeer, and we would like to share that with you. The Church continues to thrive and grow. Pastor Safeer baptized 100 new believers just a few months ago. They have grown much more mature spiritually, and they have started some very successful evangelistic campaigns. But what got my attention the most was the miracles of healing that have taken place.
An elderly woman was involved in a vehicle accident. She was sent to the hospital where she was diagnosed with blood clots in her brain, and one of her arms was fractured. She was placed on a respirator for twenty-two days. The doctors gave up on her and sent her home. This woman's children attend the Church in Islamabad, and they began to pray for her. After only two days of praying, she began to recover. Another CT scan showed no blood clots in her brain, and she has completely recovered!
A young man from the Church has a similar story. He was hit by a car, and both of his legs were fractured. One was completely crushed below the knee. He had a possible blood clot in his brain, was unconscious, and placed on a respirator. Even his doctors admitted that only by praying to God would he recover. Two men from the Church visited him in the hospital and prayed for him. They felt impressed by the Holy spirit to dedicate his life to serve the Lord. One week after this, he came out of the coma and was taken off the respirator after being on it for twenty-one days! He is talking, laughing, and praising God. This young man has, for himself, committed his life to testify of God's power to the nations.
A family came to our church, desperate for help. One of their family members had been subject to demonic control for twenty-two years. He lived in graveyards and the jungle. He would drive off anyone who came near him by throwing rocks at them, even his own family. One of the leaders from the Church went with the family to pray for him, and they found him under a tree in the jungle. They prayed over him and rebuked the demonic power that controlled his life. The man was set free in that instant. He is now able to hold a job and provide for his family. His entire family has joined the Church, and they are all serving the Lord!
A young man who is twenty-two years old was under a generational curse that had him bound by demonic spirits for fifteen years. He would not speak or do anything, just sit and stare at the wall. His family came to the altar at one of the church services and asked for prayer on his behalf. After praying and fasting for him, the Lord set him free, and the demons left him. He is now able to work and leads a very happy life with his wife. In fact, his entire family has accepted Jesus as Savior!
Thank you for praying for our brothers and sisters in Pakistan.
