Pakistan Compassion

I couldn’t be any more proud of Pastor Safeer, his wife Shamsa, and the Church in Islamabad (Living Branch Church).  Who could have guessed the potential this church in Pakistan would have on its community?  Pastor Safeer has picked up on my heart for compassion ministry and is taking off with it.

When we started the Islamabad church in 2004, Pastor Safeer had a vision to reach the community in three areas: spiritual, education, and health care.  The Church has accomplished the first part of the vision, and just last month they opened a new school called Right Path School.  This school will serve the educational needs of the community, which is lacking a good educational system.

Now the children have a quality school to attend up to the tenth grade.  This is an English based education using international standards.  The tuition is kept as low as possible to allow all children to be able to attend while children from extremely poor families can attend for free.

Pastor Safeer has staffed the school with eight qualified teachers.   Many of them are from the church. They came to teach at the school with an understanding that this is not just a job for them, but a way to serve their nation. Currently, there are 160 students attending Right Path School which is located in the center of Iqbal Town.   Pastor Safeer has a dream to expand it beyond a grade school into a university.

What impresses me most is that Living Branch Church took the initiative of the project on their own.  They raised their own funds without any outside help!

I'm so grateful to the Lord for igniting this spirit of compassion. Thanks for praying for Pastor Safeer and the church family in Pakistan.
